West Bengal Population by Religion

West Bengal is the fourth most populous state of India and has a diverse population of many religions and communities. At the census 2011, out of the 9.12 Crore population, around 6.44 Crores (70.54%) have returned themselves as followers of the Hindu religion, 2.46 crores (27.01%) as Muslims or followers of Islam, 6.58 Lakhs (0.72%) as Christians, 2.28 lakhs (0.31%) as Christians and 1.42 % are other religions.
