Wales Population and religion percentage

Wales is a country in Northern Europe and is part of the United Kingdom. It is bordered by England to the east, the Irish Sea to the north and west, the Celtic Sea to the southwest, and the Bristol Channel to the south.

As per the 2021 census, Wales’ population is 3,107,500 (3.1 million) The main population areas are in south Wales, including the cities of Cardiff, Swansea, and Newport, and the nearby valleys, with another significant population in the northeast around Wrexham and Flintshire.

*The term “Great Britain” is often used to refer to England, Scotland, and Wales, including their component adjoining islands.

Religion in Wales

Christianity is the largest religion in Wales followed by 57.6% of the population. Among Christians, Anglicans are the most common denomination, followed by the Catholics, Presbyterians, Methodists and Baptists. 

Non-Christian faiths account for 5%, and the remaining 32.1% are classified as unaffiliated, which can mean agnostic, atheist, or “nothing in particular.”

Other Religion includes Islam (1.5%) , Hinduism (0.3%), Sikhism (0.1%) , Judaism (0.1%) , Buddhism (0.3%) and other smaller faiths (0.4%)
