Islam is the main and majority religion in Tunisia. Tunisia’s constitution declares Islam as the official state religion—and the absolute majority of its population, or around 98%, report to be Muslims, while some 2% follow predominantly Christianity or Judaism.
Amon Muslims 58% identify themselves as Sunni Muslims, while 40% say they are only Muslims without affiliation to any sect.
Christianity is followed by approx 1% of the population and the main denominations are Roman Catholics, Seventh-day Adventists, the Protestant Church,, Lutherans, Anglicans, and Orthodox Churches.
Rest include Baháʼí population and a Jewish community of fewer than 1500 people.
