Tajikistan, officially the Republic of Tajikistan, is a landlocked country in Central Asia. It is bordered by Kyrgyzstan on the north, China on the east, Afghanistan on the south, and Uzbekistan on the west and northwest. According to TAJSTAT, the population of Tajikistan in 2024 is 10,288,000 (10 million) and as per the UN World Population Prospects report, the estimated population of Tajikistan in 2025 is 10,786,734 (10.7 million or 1.07 Crore)

Religion in Tajikistan
Islam is the majority population in Tajikistan and 98% of the population is Muslim. Approximately 87–95% of them are Sunni and roughly 3% are Shia and roughly 7% are non-denominational Muslims. The remaining 2% of the population are followers of Russian Orthodoxy, Protestantism, Zoroastrianism, and Buddhism.
