Srinagar Population 2024
Srinagar is the largest city and the summer capital of the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It lies in the Kashmir Valley on the banks of the Jhelum River & It’s the northernmost city of India with over 10 Lakh population.

At the start of the 20th century, Srinagar’s population was 122,000. It took 50 years to double that, and after the 1950s, the population saw significant growth, reaching around 1 million in 2001.

As per provisional reports of Census India, the population of Srinagar City in 2011 is 1,180,570 (11.18 Lakh) of which the male population is 618,790 and the female population is 561,780

The initial provisional data released by census India 2011, shows that the density of Srinagar is 4000 people per sq. km. The Srinagar city administers area is 294 sq. km
LITERACY RATE
The average literacy rate of Srinagar City in 2011 was 69.15 %. If things are looked out at gender-wise, male and female literacy was 75.87 % and 61.81 %. respectively. The total literate in Srinagar city was 1,180,570 of which 618,790 are males while 561,780 are females.
SEX RATIO
