Slovakia, officially the Slovak Republic is a landlocked country in Central Europe. Slovakia became an independent state on 1 January 1993 after the peaceful dissolution of Czechoslovakia.

Religion in Slovakia

Christianity is the main religion in Slovakia and 76% of the population adheres to it. Among Christians, 55.8% of the population identified themselves as Roman Catholics, 5.3% as Lutherans, 1.6% as Calvinists, 4% as Greek Catholics, and 0.9% as Orthodox.

Only 0.50% of people follow other religions, it includes Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, and Buddhism. 23.8% identified themselves as atheists or non-religious, and 6.5% did not answer the question about their beliefs.
