Guyana is a religiously diverse country with a Christian majority. As per the census estimates, 64% of the population follows Christianity. Next comes Hinduism with 24.8% population and Islam with 6.8% population. Other religions are at 2.6% of the population and 3.1% follow No religion.

Guyana Ethinic Composition
Guyana has a diverse ethnic population. The largest group is the Indo-Guyanese, who make up about 40% of the population. They are descendants of indentured laborers who came from India to replace African workers in plantation work. Afro-Guyanese, who are of African descent, make up about 30% of the population, while people of mixed ancestry (mainly African and European ancestry) constitute approximately 20% of the population. Additionally, the indigenous peoples of Guyana make up about 10% of the population.
