The average literacy rate of Davanagere City in 2011 was 84.89 %. If things are looked at gender-wise, male and female literacy was 88.92 % and 80.76 %. respectively. The total literate in Davanagere City was 331,551 of which 175,747 are males while 155,804 are females.

SEX RATIO
