Cameroon is a religiously diverse society, with Christianity as the largest percentage and also a good number of Muslims. Nearly Three-fourth of the Cameroon population follows Christianity and 1/4th are followers of Islam. A small percentage of the population are adherents of traditional African religions and other religions.
Catholics are 38.3% of the population and Protestantism is followed by 25.5% of the population. A large percentage of the population follows both folk and Christian traditions.
Muslims are most concentrated in the north, while Christians are concentrated primarily in the southern and western regions, but practitioners of both faiths can be found throughout the country. Large cities have significant populations of both groups. Muslims in Cameroon are divided into Sufis, Salafis, Shias, and non-denominational Muslims.
