India has the largest diaspora in the world & as per the Ministry of External Affairs, there are 3.2 Crores or 32 million Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) residing outside India.

As per the Ministry of External Affairs report, there are 1029861 (10.30 Lakhs) Indians residing in Kuwait.

Indian expats are the largest in numbers and make up around 22% of the Kuwait population and the approximate population of Indians in Kuwait as of 2023 is 1 million 10 Lakh.  The majority of these originate from the south Indian states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, with the former constituting 66% of the population of Indian nationals.

Professionals like engineers, doctors, chartered accountants, scientists, software experts, management consultants, architects, skilled workers like technicians and nurses, semi-skilled workers, retail traders, and businessmen mainly constitute the Indian community.

Religion of Indian population in Kuwait

Indians expats consisting of a number of Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists. Muslims account for the largest number of expatriates in Kuwait. Christians and Hindus are also in good numbers have religious freedom and can freely engage in religious activities, including public marriage and other celebrations.
