Roorkee is a city in the state of Uttarakhand. It’s a municipal corporation in the Haridwar district and is known for the Indian Institute of Technology and Roorkee Cantonment. Roorkee is 184.3 kilometers north of  New Delhi and 70.02 kilometers from Dehradun.

LITERACY RATE

The average literacy rate of Roorkee City in 2011 was 90.70%. If things are looked out at gender-wise, male and female literacy was 94.33% and 86.49%. respectively. The total literate in Roorkee city was 96,674 of which 53,928 are males while 42,746 are females.

SEX RATIO
