Indore is the largest city in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It’s the 14th most populous city in India & the most populous city in Madhya Pradesh. It has been ranked as India’s cleanest city four years in a row as per the Swachh Survekshan for the years 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. As per provisional reports of Census India, the population of Indore City in 2011 was 1,964,086 (19.64 Lakh)  and estimated population of Indore in 2024 is 24 lakh or 2.4 million.

As per Census 2011, Indore has a population growth rate of 30.66% during 2001-2011.  It’s expected to have a population growth rate of 16% during 2011-2021.

As per provisional reports of Census India, the population of Indore City in 2011 is 1,964,086 (19.64 Lakh) of which the male population is 10,20,057 and the female population is 9,44,029

The initial provisional data released by census India 2011, shows that the density of Indore for 2011 is 15108 people per sq. km. Indore city administers area is 130 sq. km

LITERACY RATE

The average literacy rate of Indore City in 2011 was 85.57%. If things are looked out at gender-wise, male and female literacy was 89.95% and 81.48% respectively. Total literate in Indore city was 14,86,321 of which 8,06,848 are males while 6,79,472 are females.

SEX RATIO

With regards to the Sex Ratio in Indore, it stood at 925 per 1000 males. The average national sex ratio in India is 940 as per the latest reports of the Census 2011 Directorate. In the 2011 census, the child sex ratio is 895 girls per 1000 boys

CHILD POPULATION

The Indore District is a district of Madhya Pradesh state, India. It’s the most populous of the 50 districts in Madhya Pradesh. As per census 2011, the Indore District population is 3,276,697 (32.76 Lakh) of which males and females were 1,699,627 and 1,577,070. The literacy rate is 80.87% the male-female Sex ratio is 928.
