It’s the most populated district in Karnataka & the second most populated district in India. Sub Divisons of Bangalore Urban district
The District is divided into 2 Subdivisions for administrative convenience. A Subdivision is headed by a Sub Divisional Officer SDO/SDM) in the rank of Assistant Collector in the Cadre of I.A.S or a Deputy Collector. Each division consists of a few Taluks. The Two Sub Divisions in Bangalore Urban District are

- South Sub Division
- Tehsil/ Talukas in Bangalore Urban
Administratively, the district is divided into five talukas, which are grouped into two Subdivisions:
- North Bangalore
- South Bangalore
- East Bangalore
